What's Happening at Frank Sarris Library in November

October 29, 2014
* New this fall - Popcorn and a Movie! Join us every Saturday at noon to see a classic movie and eat hot popcorn (you'll need to bring your own drink). There's no charge, but children under the age of 10 must have a caregiver with them.
* Pick up a copy of The Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline and join the Fiction Book Club to discuss it on Thursday, November 6 from 4-5pm.
* Coupon Club will meet Thursday, November 13 from 4-5pm. Come to find coupons you need and share the ones you don't. Expired coupons will be donated to the VA in Washington.
* The library will be closed November 27 and 28. Normal hours will resume Saturday, November 29th.
* Parents, bring your infants (0-9 months) to learn practices and techniques that will help baby’s intellectual growth...practice Infant Stimulation at the library on Saturdays from 10:30 am – 11:15 am! For more information email jcannon@franksarrislibrary.org<mailto:jcannon@franksarrislibrary.org>.
* There's no need to worry if you missed the first class...you can still come in to learn how to draw landscapes, stills, and people! If you're an adult or "older" teen (11th or 12th grade), you're welcome to attend the remaining Intro to Art classes (Mondays at 6pm). A one time fee of $5 covers the cost of all necessary materials.
* It's not too late for your child to attend Star Scouts, a free, program on Mondays at 4:30 that is open to students in 2nd through 5th grades. We will have our own planetarium and learn about what's out there.
Tuesday evenings are a time for students in grades K-5 to play and discover something new at the library as Library Explorers! With a different topic each week at 5pm, you'll want to be sure to call or stop by to register.
* Family Nights are now on Tuesdays at 6:30. This program is a storytime for all ages, from toddler to adult, to explore differently themed stories, crafts, and games. Register by calling the library or stopping by the Children’s Desk.
* Join us every Wednesday at 1:00 for Wiggles and Giggles, an exploration of musical instruments for preschool aged children. The children will also play parachute games, chase bubbles, and many other things. It's too much fun to miss!
* The 24Math Club has arrived at the library! Children ages 6 and up are invited to come play the 24Game to help improve their addition and subtraction skills. The group will meet Wednesdays in November from 6:30-7:30 pm.
* Parents - tell your teens they're welcome at the library's Gamers' Club every Thursday at 3:15...This is their chance to play our XBox, Wii, N64 or PS3 on the big screen in the teen lounge!
* The Tail Waggin' Tutors program is continuing through the fall. Call now to register your child for one of the Saturday sessions (noon - 2pm).
