Food Drive (through March 31)
When libraries compete to collect the most non-perishable donations, it’s the local food pantry that wins! Please help us to help our neighbors in need.

Monday, 3/2
Woodburning:  6:30 – 8:00
There’s no fee to join in and both (older) teens and adults are invited to register for this class. Participants will have the chance to either choose a template or use freestyle to create a new work of art.

Early Reach Initiative:  6:30pm
Are you the parent of a youth with a disability? Is s/he having trouble getting a job or not know where to begin? The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) works with individuals with many different types of disabilities. Please join the Washington OVR’s Early Reach Coordinator in learning more about what services OVR can offer to your youth in transitioning from high school to adult life. Fiction Book Club: 6pm

(Crop) Scrapbooking:  6:30 – 8:00
Come scrapbook with us...We have a die cut machine! Adults as well as 11th and 12th graders are welcome, and all materials are provided for the $2 fee. Don’t forget to bring your photos!

Tuesday, 3/10
Block Party:  5:00 – 7:00 pm
We offer soft blocks for the very young, large wooden blocks for pre-school and up, and Legos for older children.

Monday, 3/16 
Paint a Bird House:  6:30 – 8:00 
All ages welcome to join in, but children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. $2 per person.

Jane Austen Book Club: 4pm
 
Friday, 3/20
Paint & Sip: 6:30-9:00
Bring a friend and come to the library to enjoy some refreshments and practice your artistic skills. Registration is limited and is not considered complete until your $40 check has been received.

Weekly Events
Play Days: Mondays at 4:30 through March 16
If your 1st through 3rd graders are suffering from Cabin Fever, bring them to the Library for Play Days. Register your children now, and mark your calendar to bring them in to play Hot Potato, Captain Midnight and more. $1 per child per session.
 
Library Explorers:  Mondays at 5:30pm
This is a time for students in grades K-5 to play and discover something new at the library! With a different topic each week, you'll want to be sure to call or stop by to register your child.

Disney Dolls: Mondays at 4:30 (beginning March 23) 
This program for 2nd through 5th graders enables children to create clothing for a “Disney Princess Doll”. Participants will design daywear, evening gowns and bridal outfits, and there’s no fee to join in the fun.  We will meet weekly through May 4th but there will be no program on April 6.

Intro to Art: Mondays at 6:00 (beginning March 23) 
Register now to come in to learn how to draw landscapes, stills, and people.
If you're an adult or "older" teen (11th or 12th grade), you're welcome to attend our Intro to Art classes (continuing throughMay 4). A one-time fee of $5.
 
Lego Club:  Tuesdays at 5:00pm
The Library Lego Club is your (kindergarten through middle school) child's chance to collaborate with other Master Builders on their own designs or special building challenges.
 
Family Night: Tuesdays at 6:30
The Family Night program is a storytime for all ages, and each week explores differently themed stories, crafts, and games. No registration is necessary – just drop in!

Tail Waggin' Tutors: Wednesdays from 5:00-7:00
Certified therapy dogs are at the library every week. Call the Children's Department to schedule a session so that your child can experience the joy of practicing reading to an attentive, four-legged listener.

Popcorn and a Movie:  Saturdays at noon
Join us each week to see a classic movie and eat hot popcorn (you'll need to bring your own drink). There's no charge, but children under the age of 10 must have a caregiver with them. This month’s movie titles can be found on the events calendar at franksarrislibrary.org or by calling 724-745-1308

Dungeons and Dragons:  Saturdays from 2:00-4:00
Whether you've been playing Dungeons & Dragons for years or you're just looking to try it out, come to the library to join in the fun.
 
Peeps at the Library (Part 1)
Use marshmallow Peeps and a shoebox to create a diorama depicting a scene from a book and deliver it to the library no later than March 14 to be included in the contest.
 
Peeps at the Library (Part 2)
Come to the library between March 16 and March 31 to check out the dioramas on display and enter our “Guess the Book” contest.
