Crizal® Lenses Review

July 15, 2015

Summer flies by and it’s a great time to get all your child’s check-ups scheduled. We try and do most doctor visits during the summer months so we don’t have to pull the kids from school. That includes an annual eye exam. My daughter always had perfect checkups until last summer. She got her first pair of glasses going into fourth grade to see the chalk board (I guess it’s the smart board nowadays!) and other things far away. At the end of this school year she was complaining that even with her glasses she was having trouble seeing again. There are several warning signs that indicate a child is experiencing vision problems: squinting like my daughter was doing is one of them along with rubbing their eyes, closing or covering one eye or even behavior problems in the classroom. Time to schedule that annual eye check-up. I take the kids to see Dr. Lorenzo at Community Eye Care Associates. She is great with the kids.

Sure enough my daughter’s eyes are getting worse. Dr. Lorenzo said that is typical because girls really hit a growth spurt at this age and the eyes change with it. We got a new lens prescription and went with Crizal® for Kids lenses.

Crizal® lenses protect against smudges, scratches, glare, and other enemies of clear vision to help prevent eyestrain, discomfort, and distraction. Over-exposure to Blue-Violet lights from the sun, LED lights and everyday digital devices can damage the retina and may lead to long-term damage to children’s eyes. Crizal® for Kids UV lenses provide 25 times more UV protection than going without eyewear, and Crizal® Prevencia Kids lenses provide all the benefits of Crizal Kids UV lenses plus additional protection from harmful Blue-Violet light. They are recommended for children ages 5-12.

I was tired of looking at my daughter and not being able to see her beautiful blue eyes because her glasses were always smudged up. Her old lenses just never seemed to get clean. So we decided to give Crizal® a try. It took about 10 days for her new Crizal lenses to come in. Do they do all they promise? So far so good! My daughter wears her glasses now more than ever and I can still see those beautiful blues. Her glasses are so clean -she was given a special Crizal cleaning cloth to keep them clean. I asked her if they seem different to her. She said yes, they are clearer to see out of and haven’t smudged up yet. I also like the fact that her eyes are protect from the sun with them on. Now we aren’t going to try and scratch them up or anything crazy like that just to test them out but I have heard good things. We are very happy with these new lenses.

Schedule your child’s annual exam now to get an appointment before school starts. Summer appointments book up fast. Check to see if your doctor’s office carries Crizal®.
