Fall Craft: Leaf Man & Fall Fox

By Kathryn Fisher, Publisher, Macaroni Kid Bowie/Crofton November 2, 2016
This is such an easy craft and was perfect for my daughter and I to do together on a rainy fall day last week. The supplies are easy to find in most retails stores too. What makes this craft even better is that it's two crafts in one. You can make the Leaf Man and/or the Fall Fox using the exact same supplies!

Items Needed:
Fall Leaves (fake)
Craft Sticks
Googly eyes (small)
Craft Glue (quick drying works best with toddlers)
Markers

Steps (Leaf Man):
1. Gather the supplies.
2. Holding the leaf upright (points of leaf facing up), glue it onto the top of the craft stick, making sure that at least 1/2 of the leaf's height is on the stick -- you want it to be able to support the weight of the googly eyes. Let dry.
3. Once dry, attach the googly eyes using a tiny bit of glue. Let dry.
4. Draw rest of the Leaf Man's face using markers.
5. Decorate the stick with the markers (optional).

Steps (Fall Fox):
1. Gather the supplies.
2. Holding the leaf upside down (points of leaf facing down), glue it onto the craft stick, making sure that at least 1/2 of the leaf's height is on the stick -- you want it to be able to support the weight of the googly eyes. Let dry.
3. Once dry, attach the googly eyes using a tiny bit of glue. Keep them close together to get that "fox look". Let dry.
4. Draw the rest of the features of your fox, (nose, ears, whiskers) using the markers.
5. Decorate the stick with the markers (optional).

Now that you are done, put on a puppet show with the kids!
