BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO YOU!

September 11, 2019

Now that the kids are heading back to school, it’s time for you to start focusing on yourself again!  Here are some ways to bring a little self-care back into your life.

  • MAKE YOUR MORNINGS COUNT Taking time for you in the morning before the kids wake up and before the house starts to get busy, can go a long way.  Set your alarm to get up early and make yourself your first concern.  When we take time and make ourselves a priority first thing in the morning, we are more productive and able to meet the needs of others throughout the day.
  • PRACTICE SELF-CARE It’s challenging to balance self-care while our kids take up the majority of our attention. Offer yourself the opportunity to get back into a healthy skincare routine. Find a good facial moisturizer that suits your skin. Remember your sunscreen. Use products that are healthy for your body and keep your skin glowing naturally.
  • KICK-START THAT HEALTHY DIET Being with your kids all day long, you may not be eating the foods that your body needs. With the kids back in school now is the chance to do some clean grocery shopping and cooking. Find healthy recipes that you’ve never tried before. Plan out your meals for the week. Practice mindful eating and remember to drink lots of water. Healthy foods nourish the body and mind!
  • TAKE A YOGA CLASS Yoga has so many aspects that are beneficial to our minds and bodies. Whether you are looking to burn some calories through movement or de-stress through meditation, a yoga class is the perfect activity to  incorporate into your day.

It’s important to remember that allowing space to recharge, replenish and restore the relationship we have with our true self can help the relationships we have with our family and friends. Take time to invest in yourself.

At the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center we offer classes for kids to practice time away from you, so that you can take time to do the things you need to.  Check out our youth classes on Tuesday nights for ages 7-13, or our toddler/preschool age classes on Thursdays and Fridays starting at the end of August. We also offer a variety of yoga classes throughout the week. See our GroupEX schedule on our webpage https://wrcameronwellness.org/contact-us/
