It’s Full STEAM Ahead for Summer Camps

at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum

March 1, 2023

The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is very excited to announce the return of STEAM Summer Camps! These educational camps will be packed full of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) content and hands-on activities. Camp sessions will be available for children ages 6 – 12. Camp will run from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday. All camps will include interactive and engaging tours of the museum, exhibits, and Trolley Display Barn, as well as rides on a fully-restored, antique trolley!

LEGO® Camp will run from:

Join us for a week of LEGO® themed building challenges and fun! Learn about the world of engineering while investigating different modes of transportation. Construct simple machines, build catapults and cable cars, then plan and design a LEGO® Town and Trolley Park.
CAMP THEMES: Math, LEGO®, Engineering, Science, History, Physics, Transportation

LEGO® Engineering Camp will run from:

Join us for a week of LEGO® themed engineering challenges! Explore the forces of tension and compression to build the tallest towers, sturdiest structures, and longest bridges. Design a paper airplane launcher, construct a rubber band powered car, and create a chain reaction contraption.
CAMP THEMES: Math, LEGO®, Engineering, Science, History, Physics, Transportation

STEAM Camp will run from:

It’s full STEAM ahead in a camp dedicated to all things science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Build, test, and measure the tallest towers, longest bridges, strongest structures, and fastest vehicles. Explore the history of transportation, construct working circuits out of dough, and shrink a trolley down to pocket-size!
CAMP THEMES: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, History, Electricity

Transportation Station Camp will run from:

Explore trolleys and trains to boats, cars, and planes! Investigate the motion and physics of how things move, test different flying contraptions, and launch tiny rockets. Build barges, design racecars, and learn the ins and outs of being a trolley conductor.
CAMP THEMES: Science, Physics, Math, Technology, Engineering, History, Transportation

Engineers of Tomorrow Camp will run from:

Science, history, and technology come together as we explore the past and plan for the future of transportation! Test the conductivity of various materials, investigate renewable energy sources, and construct working circuits. Code with Sphero Robotics to program automated transit routes and avoid obstacles, then build and race robot-powered horsecars.
CAMP THEMES: Engineering, Math, Coding, Robotics, Technology, Science, Art
