On Saturday, July 10 there will be a full day of events!
Don't miss The Lil’ Rebels Heritage Area...
Children can experience a frontier classroom: writing with a quill pen, reading from McGuffey Readers, and practicing lessons on slates. They can try 18th century games such as rolling hoops, cup and ball, hopscotch, stilts and quoits. And they will learn about the role of youngsters on the frontier, trying their hands at the types of domestic chores required of children, such as gathering eggs, fetching water, and washing clothes in a tub with a washboard. Who says learning can't be fun???
You and your lil' rebels can visit the children's area in the Bradford House Gardens from 12-5pm!
Who
The Whiskey Rebellion Festival celebrates the heritage and unique character of the region by focusing on the historical significance of the Whiskey Rebellion, a history that is exclusive to western Pennsylvania and primarily Washington County. The festival honors the significant period of America’s early days through historic reenactments, period exhibitions and demonstrations, family fun, frontier art, heritage music and food, all the while shining a national spotlight on the city, county and region. Community focused entertainment combines with nationally renowned artists to create a festival that acknowledges the past, celebrates the present and looks toward the future.
