Back to school time is once again upon us. But back to school doesn’t always conjure up images of books and backpacks for everyone. For Cynthia Phillips, Director of Kickline Dance Center, back to school has a whole different meaning. It brings about visions of music and movement, creativity and inspiration. Last year, the local dance studio, located on Valleybrook Road in Peters township, added a unique program to its current lineup.
Says the Kickline Director- “I wanted to offer something special and unique to our already comprehensive program.” That “Something Special”, came in the form of the Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy.
Angelina Ballerina®, the “little star with big dreams,” will once again be sharing her love of dance with children in the Peters Township/ Canonsburg area. Kickline Dance Center is an ofï¬cial Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy, and together with a growing network of hundreds of studios across North America, Kickline will continue to offer weekly classes based on the beloved dancing mouseling star of the Angelina Ballerina books and television program. Phillips says- “Kickline is honored to bring such a wonderful program to our community.” The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy is inspired by the acclaimed animated series airing on PBS KIDS and the Sprout® network.
The program focuses on one story book per month and is intended for children ages three to ï¬ve and taught at two levels. Students will start their weekly lesson with a tap class and ï¬nish with the ballet class based on the beloved Angelina character. The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy curriculum was developed by renowned education specialists, and promises to bring something truly unique and inspiring to the young dancers of our community.
Kickline Dance Center offers classes in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Acro, Modern, and Lyrical; serving students ages three to adult. Our mission at Kickline, says Phillips, is to provide students of all ages with the skills they need to enjoy dance for a lifetime. Kickline Dance Center is always striving for the best in customer service offering an on-site dancewear shop, custom sprung dance surfaces, and the largest classrooms in the area. The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy program just another step forward in offering the highest possible quality in dance education. Phillips would also like to invite anyone with a child interested in dance to come by one of our many open houses over the next few weeks to visit our studio and tour the facilities.
