The hockey department at Iceoplex is dedicated to providing hockey programs in the best interest of children. The hockey professionals that will be teaching your child are mature, knowledgeable instructors who have taught hockey for many years and understand the social, physical, and emotional development of children. We off a small student/teacher ratio so that you know your child is getting the best possible group instruction. The only way to get more attention is through a private lesson. The hockey department is located on the lower level, near the ice surface. We encourage parents to come to the hockey office at any time to discuss your child's hockey development. Our instructors are also available before and after class to answer questions.
We use the USA Hockey Initiation Program to teach the hockey skills taught in our programs. It is a structured Learn to Play Hockey Program designed to introduce children to the game's skills, such as skating, stick handling, passing, shooting, and basic positioning. Within the program there are four level of skill progression. All players are evaluated and placed in the appropriate program level. The program enables participants to become contributing members of the team effort, to develop self confidence and to experience a sense of personal achievement. These goals are achieved in an atmosphere of cooperation and fun.

Full Ice Hockey Equipment is required. Full equipment includes: HECC certified ice hockey helmet with a full face mask, mouth guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, shin guards, hockey gloves, hockey pants, neck guard, hockey socks, athletic protector, stick, and skates.
*Proof of USA Hockey Insurance is required at the time of registration for anyone under the age of 18 years old.
